WordPress vs Webflow vs Custom: Choosing a Platform in the UAE

There is no universally correct platform. There is a correct platform for your situation, and the honest answer usually comes down to who will maintain the site and what it needs to do in three years.

WordPress

Choose it when you need a large content operation, complex SEO requirements, multilingual content, or you want the widest pool of developers available to maintain it.

Strengths. Unmatched flexibility. Excellent SEO tooling. Strong multilingual and RTL support, which matters for Arabic. Everyone can work on it.

Weaknesses. Requires maintenance discipline. Plugin sprawl kills performance. Security needs active attention. Poorly built WordPress is genuinely bad.

Cost: AED 12,000 to 45,000 typical build.

Webflow

Choose it when design quality is the priority, the site is primarily marketing, and your team wants to edit without developers.

Strengths. Excellent design control. Clean output, generally fast by default. No plugin maintenance. Genuinely pleasant for marketing teams to manage.

Weaknesses. Platform lock-in, which is the significant one. Export is limited. Costs scale with traffic. Complex functionality hits ceilings. Arabic and RTL support is workable but less mature than WordPress.

Cost: AED 15,000 to 40,000 build, plus ongoing platform fees.

Custom build

Choose it when the website is a product rather than a brochure, you need real application functionality, or you have integration requirements no CMS handles.

Strengths. Complete control. Best possible performance. No platform constraints or fees.

Weaknesses. Most expensive. You need developers ongoing. Content editing needs building deliberately.

Cost: AED 45,000 upward.

The Arabic consideration

If bilingual Arabic and English matters, WordPress currently offers the most mature path. Webflow can do it, but with more workarounds. Custom builds do whatever you specify, at a price.

The question that usually decides it

Who will update this site in eighteen months?

If the answer is a marketing person with no technical background, Webflow or well-built WordPress. If it is a development team, custom becomes viable. If the answer is nobody, choose the platform with the least maintenance burden and budget for a care plan.
